Description:
For connection configuration you use the "SR_Config.exe" tool. The download for this and a detailed description are available on the Customer Support site in Entry ID 2997327.

Note:  
This tool is no longer required from SIMATIC NET CD 7/2001 onwards.

For Fetch/Write you always need two connections:

• One connection for Fetch (Fetch passive)
• One connection for Write (Receive passive)

Open the "SR_Config.exe" tool and select an access point.

Create a connection to the controller and define parameters for it. The parameter "S5 Access" has the value "1" (read only). Since only reading is permitted on the Fetch connection, the "S5 Access" parameter must be set to "1".

Create another connection to the controller and define the parameters for it The parameter "S5 Access" has the value "2" (write only). Since only writing is permitted on the Write connection, the "S5 Access" parameter must be set to "2".

Important:
Make sure that the values for the "S5_Access" parameters are different. Parameterization is identical for the S5 and the S7.
