What are the requirements for using SIMATIC PDM Data Record Routing?
Part number:

Data record routing is a function within SIMATIC S7 modules. SIMATIC PDM uses this function to access parameters and functions of field devices with PROFIBUS DP, PROFIBUS PA and HART communication. SIMATIC PDM is a component of the Engineering Station (ES) and communicates with the automation system (AS) over Ethernet. The automation system forwards the request to the field device means of PROFIBUS DP. This procedure of data transfer between Ethernet and PROFIBUS DP is called data record routing.

Requirements for data record routing
The automation system must have the interfaces below for data record routing:

  • Ethernet interface, for example the interface of the CPU or communications processor CP 443-1.
  • Ethernet interface, for example the interface of the CPU or communications processor CP 443-5.

This FAQ response gives you an overview of this ES/AS components supported by PCS 7 for data record routing.
