Description
OPC is the standard communication channel between a PCS 7 plant and a third-party system.
Here, questions are often asked about the performance of the OPC DA server components of the PCS 7 system.

The documentation is designed to help you plan a PCS 7 plant in which OPC communication is to be used.
The focus is on showing the OPC DA performance in the PCS 7 standard configurations. For this we have selected three PCS 7 configurations and examined them for their OPC DA performance.

Creation environment
PCS 7 V7.1 SP2 was used for the measurements. A detailed description of the hardware and software used is available in the relevant chapters of the documentation.
