With immediate effect, the SIMATIC NET CP 1616 (order no. 6GK1 161-6AA01) has been declared a mature product.

Due to the discontinuation of supply of certain electronic components, the PROFINET CP 1616 module with order no. 6GK1 161-6AA01 has been declared a mature product.

End of production is planned for March31, 2012. After this date the PROFINET CP 1616 module with order no. 6GK1 161-6AA01 will only be available on a spare part basis at a 25% higher purchase price.

We recommend to use the CP 1616 with order no. 6GK1 161-6AA02 instead.

This module differs from the mature product only in the Flash memory it uses and can therefore be employed as 100% compatible replacement for all applications using a software version higher than or equal to V2.3.2.

Please note:

The CP 1616 with order no.6GK1 161-6AA02 cannot be used with software versions lower than or equal to V2.3.1.

In this case please update the software you use.
