Description WinCC V13 supports transparent PNG graphics. The transparency information here is taken directly from the graphics file. Because of this, the behavior of graphics and graphical IO fields with the previous property "Transparency" changed as has the behavior of screens with transparent areas. You must therefore change the settings of the objects accordingly to match the new properties when upgrading from device version V11 or V12 to V13. Using the "Transparency tool", which you can download at the end of this entry, you can easily change the settings at one central point without have to call and change each screen individually. The result of the changed settings is then shown to you in a preview window.
Uninstallation of the Transparency Tool V13 You can use the tool below to uninstall the Transparency Tool for WinCC V13 up to SP1.
If you have already installed the Transparency Tool in a previous version of WinCC V13, there might be problems when you install WinCC V13 SP1. After installation you can no longer start the TIA Portal. Therefore, you should uninstall the Transparency Tool V13 before you install WinCC V13 SP1.
If you have already installed the SP1 without prior uninstallation of the Transparency Tool, you should download the Setup at the end of this entry and then reinstall the Transparency Tool.
Notes Please observe the following before using the transparency tool:
You need WinCC V13 Service Pack 1 and higher to install the Transparency Tool.
If you use the same faceplate in different versions, you must call the Transparency Tool multiple times to edit all the versions. Only one version can be changed at a time.
If you have changed the "Transparent Color" or "Graphics" property at the interface of the faceplate instance, this is not recognized by the Transparency Tool.
Download the file at the end of this entry and unpack the ZIP file on your PC with WinCC (TIA Portal).
Close the TIA Portal.
Start the "Transparency tool - Setup.exe" file with a double-click.
Read and accept the license conditions. Unpack the files in a directory of your choice.
Open the directory and double-click "Setup.exe".
Open the WinCC (TIA Portal) project with the upgraded operator panel.
In the project tree you right-click the operator panel or "Languages and resources > Graphics" and select "Change transparency option" in the pop-up menu.
The list shows all the graphics and graphical IO fields whose screens contain transparent pixels and for which the property "Transparency" is enabled. If you enable the option "Use the screen background color for preview", the preview window has the same background color as at the point of usage.
You can edit the "Transparency" property either separately for each object or by using the "Select all" and "Unselect all" buttons.
If the warning icon is displayed for an object, you should check that object. In this case, the screen contains transparent pixels and the color that is set as transparent color at the point of usage. If the "Transparency" option is enabled, the transparent pixels are displayed black. If the "Transparency" option is disabled, the background is displayed in its original color. In this case, you should change the original file.
In the case of a graphical IO field, you can check all the screens in the graphics list using the arrow buttons in the preview window.
If you change the "Transparency" property of a faceplate using the transparency tool, a new version of the faceplate with that property is created in the library and the instances are updated in the project. Refer also to the Notes.
Download The download contains the Transparency Tool.
Description You can easily migrate a project with recipes from WinCC flexible to WinCC (TIA Portal). However, recipe data of a WinCC flexible configuration is often changed after downloading to the panel. How can you import these modified recipe data records into a WinCC (TIA Portal) project?
Instructions Export the recipe data from the panel into a CSV file. There are different ways of doing this depending on the panel used.
If you are using a Basic panel of the first generation or an OP 77A, OP 177A or TP 177A (Portrait) operator panel, then you should use ProSave:
Now the recipe data records are incorporated in your WinCC (TIA Portal) project.
Recipe data record export with ProSave
Open ProSave in the Windows Start menu ("SIMATIC > ProSave > ProSave"), go to the "General" tab and set the device and connection parameters. Now go to the "Backup" tab.
Alternatively you can start ProSave directly from WinCC flexible (menu "Project > Transfer > Backup").
In the "Data type" drop-down list box you select the item "Recipes (CSV format)"
Specify an appropriate storage location of the recipe data records, a USB stick, for example.
Start the export procedure with the "Start Backup" button.
Note "ProSave" is included as part of the installation of your WinCC (TIA Portal) or WinCC flexible DVD and is also available for downloading in Entry ID 10347815.
System function "ExportDataRecords"
In your WinCC flexible project you link the system function "ExportDataRecords" to an event, clicking a button, for example.
Specify the name of the recipe and the name or number of the recipe data record to be saved, and select a suitable storage location, a USB stick, for example.
Specify "0" as the data record number to store all the data records of a recipe.
After project download the event (clicking a button, for example) triggers each time storage of the current recipe data in the specified storage location.
Miniweb on the panel
The HTML pages must be activated on your panel for this procedure. The settings for this are in the WinCC flexible Project View under "Device Settings > Device Settings > Runtime Services".
Use your browser to establish a connection to the Miniweb of the panel and log on with user name and password.
The default administrator name is "Administrator", the associated password is "100".
Switch to the "Control Functions" page.
Select the "Export recipes" function.
You see a list of the configured recipes.
Right-click a recipe and select the "Save Target As..." item in the pop-up menu that opens (or the corresponding browser command) to store the CSV file on your local computer.
To view the recipe data records without storing them you simple click a recipe.
Import of recipe data into WinCC (TIA Portal)
Open the "Recipes" working area in WinCC (TIA Portal).
Select the recipe whose data records you want to import and click the "Import recipe data records" icon.
In the dialog that opens you select the recipe file from which you want to import data.
Confirm with "Import".
Now the recipe data records are imported.
Note The corresponding recipe must already have been created in WinCC (TIA Portal) to be able to import recipe data records.
If, in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13 SP1, you load project data from a device that you have previously loaded into the device using a previous version, you must open "Compatibility Mode V1x".
Download to the device with STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13
In this case you must use "Compatibility Mode V13". However, this is only possible if a STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13 project is open.
For the case that you do not have a STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13 project, we have included an empty STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13 project for downloading in this FAQ response.
Download 1 The download contains the "compatibility_mode_V13_V13SP1.zip" project. Copy the "compatibility_mode_V13_V13SP1.zip" file into a separate directory and then start the file with a double-click. You can then use the STEP 7 (TIA Portal) to open and process the extracted project data.
Download to the device with STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13
In this case you must use "Compatibility Mode V12". However, this is only possible if a STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V12 project is open.
For the case that you do not have a STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V12 project, we have included an empty STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V12 project for downloading in this FAQ response.

Migration of a project integrated in STEP 7 from WinCC flexible to WinCC (TIA Portal)?
You have configured an MP 277 Touch with multiple screens. A TP1200 Comfort Panel is to be added to this configuration.
The screens of the MP 277 Touch are to be adopted by the new operator panel.
WinCC (TIA Portal) provides the option of using "Drag & Drop" or "Copy & Paste" to transfer screens from one operator panel into another.
Prior to copying you should check the settings for resizing screens and objects. This resizing is important in particular when the operator panels have different display resolutions.
In this example, the MP 277 Touch has a resolution of 640 x 480 and the TP1200 Comfort a resolution of 1280 x 800.
In advance you can define how the contents of the project screens are tp be resized and applied upon transfer.
For this, in WinCC (TIA Portal), you select the menu command "Options > Settings".
Under the "Visualization > Resize screen" item you can define various options (see figure below).
A detailed description of the effect of the different settings on the operator panel is given in the document "Migration guidelines for Comfort Panels", section 3.3 (Change Screen from 4:3 to Wide Screen).
Overview of resolutions and different screen formats of the panels
Unlike a project-specific WinCC flexible library, you cannot migrate global libraries directly from WinCC flexible to WinCC (TIA Portal).
Information on the topic of libraries:
The project library is stored together with the project in which it was created. In this way a project library is migrated automatically to WinCC (TIA Portal) with the project created.
The global library is not stored with the project created.
The system library supplied is in the installation directory of WinCC flexible, for example. Own libraries are stored under "Documents and Settings", for example, if the default path is used. In this way a global library is not migrated automatically to WinCC (TIA Portal) with the WinCC flexible configuration.
Proceed as follows to transfer a global WinCC flexible library to WinCC (TIA Portal).
Function description A new MP 277 Touch project was created for this procedure. You can also use an existing WinCC flexible configuration. The operator panel you use must support the objects etc. used in the global library.
Open the global library in which the objects are located and which you wish to transfer to WinCC (TIA Portal).
Insert all the required objects into an existing picture or pictures.
Migrate the WinCC flexible configuration to WinCC (TIA Portal).
Open the migrated project in WinCC (TIA Portal).
Open the global library of WinCC (TIA Portal).
Insert the objects in the pictures into the global library of
WinCC (TIA Portal).
Description of functions (detail)
Create a new project An "MP 277 Touch" project was created for this procedure. No other functions or the like are required apart from the default "Home Page".
Open global library of WinCC flexible
In the menu bar you select the fifth icon: "Opens a library" (Fig. 01).
The "Global Library" window opens.
Select global libraries
Insert the desired global library in the "Open global library" window.
In this example we have selected the "Graphics" library in the "System Libraries" folder.
Mark an object in the global library selected (Fig. 03) and drag-and-drop it into the screen that opens (Fig. 04).
Inserted objects (Fig. 04).
Finally you save the whole configuration.
Migrate the project to WinCC (TIA Portal) Open the WinCC (TIA Portal) and migrate the WinCC flexible configuration.

Create new global library in WinCC (TIA Portal)
Open the migrated project in WinCC (TIA Portal).
Open the "Libraries" task card.
Select the "Global libraries" palette and click the first icon, "Create new global library", to create a new global library (Fig. 05).
A dialog box opens.
Here you enter a name and the storage path for the global library just created.
The new global library is called "WinCC flexible Objects" in this example.
Copy objects from the picture(s) into the global library
Open the picture with the objects from the WinCC flexible library.
Drag-and-drop the separate objects into the global library
"WinCC flexible Objects > Master copies" (Fig. 06). Note
You can also mark multiple objects and copy them into the global library using drag-and-drop. These are then grouped together as "one" object.
Save the global library
Click the third icon, "Save the changes to the library",
to save the changes/extension (Fig. 07).
This completes the migration of a global WinCC flexible library to WinCC (TIA Portal).
