The new firmware version V2.3 for the SINAUT communication modules TIM 3V-IE and TIM 3V-IE Advanced is now available for download. A detailed description is available in entry ID 53469054. A firmware upgrade of existing TIM modules of the mentioned type is required to use the functional enhancements / product improvements.

Firmware update process:

Save the zip file to a temporary folder on your PC. Unzip the file and start Setup.exe in the unzipped file.

The firmware consisting of

- the basic package TIM3VIES_V2.3.0.FWL for TIM 3V-IE,

- the basic package TIM3VIEA_V2.3.FWL for TIM 3V-IE Advanced and

- the driver package that must be downloaded to the TIM 3V-IE variants,

is automatically saved in the folder ...\P7ST\TIMFW_VXW below the STEP7 installation environment.

Download the basic and driver package of the TIM 3V-IE and TIM 4R-IE firmware with two different programs to the TIM module in the order described below:

1. Driver package

Use the SINAUT diagnostic and service tool to download the driver package.

You do not need to specify a file or path for downloading the driver package. The driver package is detected automatically.

2. Basic package

Use the NCM firmware loader to download the basic package.

(part of STEP 7: SIMATIC --> STEP 7 --> NCM S7 --> Firmware Loader).

To download the basic package with the NCM firmware loader you need to know the correct file name and the file path (e.g....\P7ST\TIMFW_VXW/TIM3VIES_V2.3.0.FWL), because you must explicitly enter this information in the NCM firmware loader.
