Description
This entry describes what you should watch out for when reconfiguring in RUN (CiR) when your configuration contains an S7 station for which one of the CiR elements below and a PROFINET IO system is configured.

Component CiR element
Existing DP master system CiR object
This contains the number of additional DP slaves and can be edited by the user.
Existing PA master system CiR object
This contains the number of additional PA slaves and can be edited by the user.
Modular DP slave of the
ET 200M/ET 200iSP type
CiR module
This contains the additional IO volume and can be edited by the user.

To retain the CiR capability we recommend we recommend not to update the version of the Engineering Software with which the configuration was created and commissioned, in other words:

do not upgrade the version of STEP 7 including Service Package (SP), Hotfix (HF) and Hardware Support Package (HSP). Upgrading STEP 7 can lead to loss of CiR capability so that uploading of the altered hardware configuration to the CPU must take place in "STOP" mode.

Further Information
More information about the CiR function is available in the manual "SIMATIC STEP7 V5.5 Modifying the System during Operation via CiR" in Entry ID 45531308.

Information about which DP slaves can be added to and removed from a PROFIBUS DP master system using the CiR function and which configuration changes are permissible is available in Entry ID: 14909396.
