Description
The following manuals give an overview of which modules are released for which versions of PCS 7.

PCS 7 version -- released modules Entry ID
PCS 7 V8.0 61187475
PCS 7 V7.1 28739248
PCS 7 V7.0 24831707
PCS 7 V6.1 21406213
PCS 7 V6.0 15229053
PCS 7 V5.2 8774030
PCS 7 V5.1  7174990

Note
If other modules have been released with a service pack (SP) of a PCS 7 version, this is documented in the "Readme" of that service pack.

Firmware version
You can determine the current firmware version of your module via the following menus respectively in the SIMATIC Manager or hardware configuration:
"PLC > Diagnostics/Settings > Module Status" or "PLC > Module Status". You must select the module required beforehand. In the hardware configuration, you can use this function to determine all the modules with loadable firmware (including I/O modules).

The current firmware versions with a description of how to upgrade them are available in the following Entry IDs:

CPU used Entry ID
Operating system updates for S7-414 CPUs  2850229
Operating system updates for S7-416 CPUs  2858911
Operating system updates for S7-417 CPUs  2855123
Operating system updates for S7-4xx H CPUs  6741018

CP used Link
Firmware updates for CP 443-1  CP443-1 firmware update *)
Firmware updates for CP 443-5 Extended  CP443-5 Extended firmware update *)

*) Change the language in the header to receive the downloads in the language of your choice.

As from PCS 7 V6.0, detailed notes on Upgrading and determining modules are available in the "Service Support and Diagnostics" manual. Links to the manuals are shown in the following table.

Manual Entry ID
Service Support and Diagnostics V6.0 section 1.3 and chapter 5 15236128
Service Support and Diagnostics V7.0 sections 1.3 and 5.16.7 24449644
Service Support and Diagnostics V7.1 sections 2.3 and 6.16.7 36195904
Service Support and Diagnostics V8.0 sections 3.3 and 7.18.7 61187456

Notes

  • Since the IM 467 does not support CiR (Configuration in Run) and cannot be used for an H system, this module is not released for PCS 7. The IM 467 can be considered as a simplified version of the CP443-5 Extended. The IM 467 functions are also available with CP443-5 Extended, which is why CP443-5 Extended is to be used and a CP443-5 Extended is to be configured in HW Config.
  • The beneficial features of PCS 7, such as plant hierarchy, PCS 7 libraries, SFC and PCS 7 message system (e.g. Alarm_8P block), are not supported by the S7-300 CPUs. The range of functions of the S7-300 CPUs is not sufficient for this. This is why the S7-300 CPUs are not released for operation with PCS 7. Of course, you can process the S7-300 CPUs with the SIMATIC Manager (and HW Config) and program them with CFC, but then you cannot use the PCS 7 blocks and functions (libraries).
