Description:
The new WinCC Alarm Control provides you with the extensive option of selecting messages in Alarm Control during configuration and at Runtime. A detailed description is available in the WinCC Information System in the path: Working with WinCC > Setting up a Message System > Display of Messages during Runtime > Operation during Runtime > How to select messages.

Note:
If you enter a selection with several criteria, these criteria are linked as in an "AND" operation. You can link multiple selections as in an "OR" operation. You can create these selections both during configuration and during Runtime.

Example:
If you enter the criteria "Number less than 100" and "Number greater than 1000" in a selection, no messages are displayed, because this creates the SQL statement "MSGNR < 100 and MSGNR > 1000".

If you create a selection with the criteria "Number less than 100" and a selection with the criteria "Number greater than 1000" and you link these two selections, you get a display of all the messages numbered 1 to 99 and all the messages with numbers greater than 1000. The SQL statement created would be "MSGNR < 100 or MSGNR> 1000".

Instructions for creating selections during configuration:

No. Procedure
