This FAQ applies to the SINAMICS G120 Control Units without “-2” in the product name.

This FAQ only works for the IOP, it does not apply to the BOP-2!

The IOP can be used together with the CU240S..., CU240E in two different ways.

1. The IOP can be connected to the CU240S..., CU240E via IOP Handheld.

What do I need?

• IOP Handheld (order number: 6SL3255-0AA00-4HA0)
• PC-Connection Kit for CU240S/E (order number: 6SL3255-0AA00-2AA1) 

2. The IOP can be used as a door mounted option with the CU240S..., CU240E control units, but only with an additional cable and an external power supply for the IOP.

What do I need?

• IOP (order number: 6SL3255-0AA00-4JA0)
• Door Mounting Kit for the IOP (order number: 6SL3256-0AP00-0JA0)
• PC-Connection Kit for CU240S/E (order number: 6SL3255-0AA00-2AA1)
• "Knorrtec" Connection Cable for CU240S/E, connecting the external power supply of IOP (order number see PDF)
• External DC +24V, (e.g. SITOP PSU100C; order number: 6EP1331-5BA00)

Warning
Do not connect 24V DC directly to the IOP, or demage will result!

Notes
The "Knorrtec" connection cable is fitted with a DC/DC coupler (with galvanic separation, 24VDC, 50 mA) to allow the use of a external +24V DC power supply.
