QUESTION:
When I open a projection that was created with a ProTool version earlier than 3.x, Windows will use any font. What is the cause for this, and what can I do about it?

ANSWER :
Up to ProTool V3.00, the used fonts were called PT Standard and PT Symbol, as of V3.00 they are called ProTool Standard or ProTool Symbol.
This results in the display of incorrect fonts when older projections are edited in ProTool V3.x, if no earlier version of ProTool was installed on the computer.

This is caused by the fact that the font listed in the configuration, PT Standard / Symbol, cannot be found on the computer. Windows will then automatically use a font that it considers compatible. Most of the time, however, this is not ProTool Standard or ProTool Symbol.

Remedy:
In the menu for the target system's fonts, replace the selected fonts PT Standard and PT Symbol with the new fonts ProTool Standard and ProTool Symbol.

Note:
In some of the standard project plannings available in ProTool V3.x (e.g. OP35_S7_300_400), the previous fonts are also still included.
