The parameter structure of the SINAMICS G120 is based on its predecessor - the MICROMASTER 4th Generation – and represents a consequential further development.
Although the parameter structures have remained the same - the G120 offers users many new functions. The implementation and handling of the new functions means that certain changes had to be made to some parameters.
The main differences are therefore also associated with the fact that the G120 has a modular design. The G120 has different types of Control Modules (CUs) that have different functions and communication interfaces.
For instance the CU240S DP-F safety module is configured for PROFIBUS-DP and also includes safety functionality. However, there is no possibility of setting USS for the RS485. For the CU240S module the opposite applies: This module does not have any safety functionality and has no possibilities of making settings for a fieldbus; however, this module can address a COM link via USS.
All of the changes to the parameters of the various G120 control modules with firmware release 2.0 in comparison to those of MICROMASTER 440 FW 2.10 are provided in the attached file.
