Description:
The SIMATIC NET Quick Start Collection provides simple sample programs designed to help when starting to configure plants with SIMATIC NET products.

The following links take you to the SIMATIC NET Quick Start Collection. There you will find sample programs and documentation for communication via Industrial Ethernet using the following protocols:

Here you will find sample S7 programs and documentation for the following SIMATIC NET products:

  • IE CP for S7-300, S7-400 and S7-200
  • IE PC CPs, e.g. CP1512, CP1612, CP1613
  • IWLAN with SCALANCE W products like SCALANCE W788-1PRO and SCALANCE W744-1 PRO

Instructions
The S7-200 with CP243-1 supports S7 communication as server and client, which means it is possible

  • To configure a client connection in the S7-200. That means the S7-200 actively sets up the S7 connection.
  • To configure a server connection in the S7-200. That means the S7-200 is passively involved in setting up the S7 connection. The remote client sets up the S7 connection to the S7-200. It provides the data as a server.

The configuration of the S7 communication for the S7-200 takes place in STEP 7 MicroWIN with the Ethernet Wizard. The configuration of S7 communication is carried out in STEP 7 for the S7-300 and S7-400.
Proceed according to the following instructions when configuring S7 communication between the S7-200 and the S7-300 or S7-400:

Note

  • In this example, a CPU and a communication processor are used in the S7-200, S7-300 and S7-400. Alternatively, you can also use a CPU with an integrated Industrial Ethernet interface in the S7-300 and the S7-400.
  • The CP343-1 Lean only supports S7 communication as a server; that means
that if you use a CP343-1 Lean in the S7-300 station, configure the S7-300 station as a server and the S7-200 station as a client for S7 communication.
