Part number:

Instructions:
At the moment it is not possible to have the display for the normal, danger and warning area of a pointer instrument made in color on a Windows CE-based operator panel.

If a color display is required, you can achieve this using a graphical representation. The graphical representation is laid behind the pointer instrument that is switched to transparent.

No. Procedure
1

Insert pointer instrument:

Open your project. Set the operator panel to "WinCC Flexible Runtime". First insert a pointer instrument in your configuration and define the size of the display.

Tip:
You can define the height and width of the display in Properties under "Properties > Layout > Size".

2

Set parameters:

In the Properties of the pointer instrument you define the parameters for Gradation, Warning range start, Danger range start etc. under "Properties > Scale".

Select the option check box next to the relevant "Warning range" in each case. This option later causes the corresponding warning range to be displayed.

3 Create screen shot:

Make a "screen shot" of the picture/page with the pointer instrument (e.g. via the key combination Ctrl + Print).

Insert this screen shot in a graphics processing program (e.g. Microsoft Paint).

4 Edit screen shot:

From the screen shot you remove all the details such as labels and scales. Below is an example of the original and the edited screen shot.

 5 Incorporate graphical representation:
  • Open the Properties of the pointer instrument.
Under "Properties > Layout > Settings", for "Background fill style" select the entry "Frame transparent" and under "Dial fill style" the entry "Transparent".
  • Switch to "Properties > Scale > Ranges".
Here you clear the check mark for "Display normal range, Warning range start, Danger range start".
  • Insert a new graphical representation.
In this case you use the screen shot you have edited as the graphical representation.
  • Place the two elements one over the other (pointer instrument and graphical representation). The pointer instrument must be set to "Foreground".

This completes the pointer instrument.

6 Operation:

Now you can change the operator panel again. Now set your desired Windows CE-based panel as operator panel.
