You would like to start the web viewer "WinCCViewerRT.exe" directly via an icon on the Windows desktop or via the Windows Start menu.

Preparation
After installation of the WebNavigator or DataMonitor, the "WinCCViewerRT.exe" file is located in the directory "...\SIEMENS\WINCC\WebNavigator\Client\bin".
Start the web viewer with a double-click.

The parameters that can be set are described in the WebNavigator manual in Entry ID: 37436594 in the section "WinCC/WebNavigator Documentation>Using the terminal services for WinCC/WebNavigator >WinCCViewerRT".

Create a link to "WinCCViewerRT.exe"

1 Right-click the "WinCCViewerRT.exe" file in the Windows Explorer.
2 Select "Create link".
3 Copy the link to a location of your choice, Desktop, for example.

Extend the Windows Start menu
 
No. Procedure
1 Go to "Start > Settings > Control Panel > Task bar > Start menu".
2 In the Start menu tab you select the "Change" button.
3 In the dialog that opens select the "Add" button.
4 Click the "Browse" button to find the storage location of the link.
5 Select "Link to WinCCViewerRT.exe" and click the "OK" button.
6 Specify the folder in which the link is to be created.
7 Click the "Continue" button.
8 Give the link a name that will appear in the Start menu.
7 Click the "Finish" button and close any open dialogs with "OK".

The link to the web viewer is displayed when you select the Start menu.

If the Web-client can not connect to the Web-server after an update installation, you can eliminate this problem with one of the two following solutions. The second solution is more complicated and takes longer. You must do this settings on the WinCC WebNavigator Server.

Solution 1:
 
No. Procedure
1 Click "Start > Run" to open the dialog "Run" .
Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008:
Click "Start > All programs > Accessories > Run" to open the dialog "Run".
2 Enter the command "cmd" and click "OK". The command prompt opens.
3 Enter "C:\Programme\Siemens\WinCC\WebNavigator\Server\bin
\WinCCWebconfigurator.exe /deinstall=yes" and press ENTER. After you press ENTER the window "Wait" opens. The text "User and Group Settings" is displayed in this window.
Note:
If you didn't use the default path for the installation, you have to change the path accordingly. If you use a MUI or english Version of the operating system you must input the execute within apostrophes. It is necessary the system to recognize the path "Program files". The parameter  "/deinstall=yes" must be set external of the apostrophes.
Example: "C:\Program files\Siemens\WinCC\WebNavigator\Server\bin\WinCCWebconfigurator.exe" /deinstall=yes
4 Close the command console interpreter.
5 Click "Start > SIMATIC > WinCC > Webnavigator Server > Webconfigurator" to open the Webconfigurator and configure the Website. 6 Connect the Web client with the Web server.

2 Double-click "Add or Remove Programs"
3 Under "Change or Remove Programs", select "SIMATIC WinCC WebNavigator Server V7.0.2".
Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008:
Click "SIMATIC WinCC WebNavigator Server V7.0.2".
4 Click "Remove"
Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008:
Uninstall the program with the button "Remove".
5 Reinstall the program from the WinCC DVD.

The WinCC Web Navigator Client can be visualized on a MOBIC T8 if you are using the terminal services of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Microsoft Windows 2003 Server.

  • Set up a Microsoft Terminal Client on the MOBIC T8 and install the WinCC Web Navigator Client software on the computer with the Microsoft Terminal Server. As from WinCC/Web Navigator V6.1, if this computer is not also your WinCC/Web Navigator Server, you must also install WinCC.
  • The Microsoft Terminal Server does not have to be installed on the WinCC  Web Navigator Server computer. You can also use a separate computer for this.
  • Now it is possible to log in on the Microsoft Terminal Server from the MOBIC T8 (via Microsoft Terminal Client software).
  • After logging in you can open the Microsoft Internet Explorer in the Microsoft Terminal Client window on the MOBIC T8 and start the WinCC Web Navigator Client.
  • The Microsoft Terminal Client receives only the picture data from the Microsoft Terminal Server.
    All actions such as opening the Microsoft Internet Explorer or installing software etc. are executed only on the Microsoft Terminal Server.

Quantity framework: 
You can connect up to 25 Microsoft Terminal Clients to the Microsoft Terminal Server.

Requirements for using the terminal services:

Terminal Server
 
Software:
  • Windows 2000 Server SP3 / SP4 or Windows 2003 Server
  • Applications that are to be executed on the clients must be able to be called and executed multiple times.
Minimum hardware requirements:
  • Pentium III; 800MHz
  • 512MB RAM plus additional RAM for each client
  • Processor and memory requirements increase linearly, i.e. if double the number of clients is used, then the processor must be doubled (max. 4) as well as the memory (approx. 40MB per client).
Miscellaneous:
  • If many users want to access the server, then a high-performance network card should be used.
  • ISA bus system should not be used, but EISE or PCI.

Client Terminal Services
 
Minimum client requirements:
  • Network card with TCP/IP
  • Terminal Client RDP 5.0
  • Display or screen
  • Pointing device
