To which extent can you incorporate a new TD 200(C) in a project that has been created with an older version of Micro/WIN?Go to beginning
Part number:

Configuration Notes:
The new TD 200 - text displays (as from V3.0) offer new functions, for example hierarchically arranged user-defined menus, but they are also compatible with projects that have been created for the previous versions of TD 200 (before TD 200 V3.0, as only bit-activated messages of the S7-200 CPU were supported). You can implement a new TD 200 or TD 200C with an existing TD configuration without having to change the controller program in the S7-200 CPU. Which TD 200 (C) versions you can process with your version of Micro/WIN is given in the TD 200 wizard. It proposes each version of TD 200(C) that can work fully functionally with the version of Micro/WIN concerned.

Fig. 1

If you wish to process a newer version of TD 200(C) that is not known to your version of Micro/WIN, that is also possible, but only with the functionality that corresponds to the range of functions of that version.

Which configuration do you need for "PC Adapter USB" in conjunction with MicroWin and S7-200?Go to beginning
Part number:

Instructions:
Installation of the "PC Adapter USB" driver and selection of the access point in the PG/PC interface.

Requirements:

  • You are using the Win2K or WinXP operating system
  • MicroWin V3.2 SP4 or higher has been installed successfully
  • You are using "PC Adapter USB" V1.1 or V1.2. The drivers and firmware are on the CD supplied or can be downloaded from the following Entry IDs: V1.1: 19136131 or V1.2: 21226394
Step Procedure
1

Start the software installation from the "PC Adapter USB" CD via the "setup.exe" file and select your language.

Fig. 01

2 Once the license has been defined and the components selected the "Set PG/PC interface" window opens. Here, the interface parameterization used - "PC Adapter(PPI)" - is not yet available, because driver installation is only in Step 4. Close the window with the "OK" button.

Fig. 02

3 You are prompted to restart your computer to complete the software installation. You do this via the "Exit" button.

Fig. 03

4 After successful restart you connect the PC Adapter USB first to the the communications interface of the CPU (because the PC Adapter USB is supplied via this interface) and then to the USB port of your computer.

Note:
If not supplied via the communications interface of the CPU, the PC Adapter USB is not recognized by the PC!

When the PC Adapter USB is recognized, the "Found New Hardware Wizard" starts.
Acknowledge the automatic software installation via the "Next" button to start the driver installation.

Fig. 04

5 Close the driver installation via the "Finish" button.

Fig. 05

6 Open the "Set PG/PC interface" via the menu "Start > Settings > Control Panel".
7 Select "PC Adapter(PPI)" and click on Properties.

Fig. 06

8 Select the transmission rate of the port used by the CPU (Port0 or Port1).

Fig. 07

9 After selection you acknowledge 2x with "OK".
10 Open "MicroWin" and select the CPU via "Communication".

Note:
You are using the access point "PC Adapter(MPI)" and receive one of the following error messages.
"The cable should be checked or that another device is using this port" or
"Port could not be opened or is being used by another application".

Check the following points:

  • Is the "Only master on the bus" check box checked when only the CPU and no other master (e.g. OP) is in the network with the transmission rate selected?
  • Has USB been selected under "PG/PC Setting > PC Adapter(MPI) > Settings > Local Connections"?
