Configuration Notes:
Prior to SIMATIC PCS 7 V6.1 you defined the possible subsystem candidates statically. This means that when creating recipes in the recipe editor, you selected the possible subsystems on which a sub-recipe was to be run. You may retain this procedure for SIMATIC PCS 7 V6.1 and higher.
In addition you have the option of employing the new strategy of "Determining subsystems via conditions". In the conditions, specific equipment properties are required, such as the size of the subsystem (capacity of a silo) or material properties of the silo shell.
When configuring in the ES, equipment properties are assigned to the subsystems, and they are queried as conditions when recipes are created. When the equipment properties match the condition defined in the recipe, the subsystem is permitted.

Configuring in the "Configure Batch System ..." dialog (call of the batch configuration dialog after selecting the multiproject)

No. Procedure
1 Select the "Equipment Properties" folder below Batch Types.
2 Create a new object in the "Equipment Properties" folder.
3 Assign the required data type and unit.
4 Mark the "Batch Types" folder and click on the "Propagate" button.
5 Close the dialog by clicking on the "OK" button.

Results:
This equipment property can now be used as a specific property for the selected subsystems.

Assigning equipment properties to the subsystems (call of the batch configuration dialog after selecting a project)

No. Procedure
1 Select your subsystem property below Batch Instances.
2 Via the "New" button you assign one of the equipment properties to this subsystem.
3 Select the required equipment property and click on the "Accept" button. You can also select and accept other equipment properties in the same way.
4 Quit the dialog with the "Close" button.
5 In your subsystem folder you select the assigned equipment property and under Setpoint Value you enter or select a value for this subsystem instance.
6 Close the dialog by clicking on the "OK" button.

Results:
Equipment properties and values have now been assigned to the selected subsystems. They are now available to you for assignment conditions when creating recipes with the recipe editor.

Lists as equipment properties
If there is an equipment property of the "List" data type, you can use this as a group criterion. Previous to SIMATIC PCS 7 V6.1 this grouping was the subsystem class. When you migrate older projects this grouping will be accepted as the equipment property "UnitClass". Note here that not all editors support "UnitClass" as group criterion.

Configuring

No. Procedure
1 In the Components view in the SIMATIC Manager, under Global Declarations create a new "List" object in the Lists folder. Then in the "List" object create several "Value" objects.
2 Open the "Configure batch system ..." configuration dialog.
3 Execute the "Generate Batch Types" function. The list is made available as data type.
4 In the "Equipment Properties" folder assign this list as data type to an existing equipment property.
5 In the selected subsystem's folder, below the "Batch Instances" folder, select the corresponding equipment property.
6 The values created in the Global Declarations are available to you in the "Setpoint Value" selection dialog.
7 If you have configured one or more lists as equipment properties, you may specify one of them as grouping criterion for the recipe editor. In the "Configure Batch System ..." dialog, you select the "System" folder and then select the required subsystem grouping from the selection dialog.

Recipe editor
In the recipe editor you may define the subsystems via conditions for which the necessary equipment properties are appropriate. If the system is extended or changed, the list is adapted automatically to the possible subsystems without changing the recipe.

Configuring in the recipe editor

No. Procedure
1 In the Tools > Settings menu, in the "General" tab you activate the "Select subsystems by conditions" option. This sets this strategy as default for new recipes and subrecipes.
2 Open the "Properties ..." dialog via the menu command Recipe > Header parameters ... and open the "Assignments" tab.
3 While in the list mark the required recipe assignment(s) and click on the "Edit" button.
4 Click the "New" button. This will generate a new, still empty condition.
5 Click on the "Change" button to make further settings in the wizard.

First, you select the required equipment property and then click on the "Next" button.
Second, select the operator ("available" means that only the availability is evaluated, not the value of the equipment property).
Third, select or enter the required value for the equipment property.
In the last step, click on the "Finish" button.
6 Using logical operators you can link several conditions with the querying of equipment properties.
7 Close the dialog by clicking on the "OK" button.

Results:
In the "Assignment" tab you see the possible subsystems on which the sub-recipe may run. The subsystem assignment is determined by SIMATIC BATCH on the basis of the recipe functions and conditions used and cannot be edited.
