Instructions
If WinCC has been installed before STEP 7 and messages (e.g. ALARM_8) are to be transferred from STEP 7  to WinCC (chronological reporting), then you must manually install the AS-OS Engineering and Object Manager components.

Procedure up to WinCC V 6.2.3.x:
Start the WinCC Setup. Install the AS-OS Engineering and Object Manager components by way of "Add/Remove Components > Communication".

Procedure as from WinCC V7:
Start the WinCC Setup. Select the Runtime Setup in Expert Mode (User-defined Installation > WinCC Expert > WinCC Runtime). For the components to be installed you select AS-OS Engineering and Object Manager .

Then it is possible to insert an existing WinCC project into the SIMATIC Manager and subsequently transfer the messages to WinCC - see Entry ID 11841504.

Note
The procedure is only necessary if you are using message blocks from STEP 7 and want to transfer them to WinCC (chronological reporting).
If the messages in WinCC are configured in compliance with the bit alarm procedure, it is not necessary to integrate the project into the SIMATIC Manager.
