Configuration Notes:

1. Communication via the integrated IE interface of the CPU:

  • The function blocks for the S7 communication on CPU 317-2 PN/DP and CPU 315-2 PN/DP are supplied with the Standard Library of STEP 7 V5.3.
  • The S7 communication blocks USEND/URCV (FB8/FB9), BSEND/BRCV (FB12/FB13), GET/PUT (FB14/FB15) from the Standard Library run on all SIMATIC S7-300 CPUs with firmware versions as from 2.x.y (e.g. 6ES7315-2AG10-...).
These communication blocks are also suitable for CP343-1.

2. Communication via a CP343-1

  • The function blocks for communication with CP 343-1 are located in the SIMATIC_NET_CP library.
  • The S7 communication blocks USEND/URCV (FB8/FB9), BSEND/BRCV (FB12/FB13), GET/PUT (FB14/FB15) from the SIMATIC_NET_CP are to be used on all SIMATIC S7-300 CPUs with firmware versions as from 1.x.y (e.g. 6ES7315-2AF03-...). These blocks are suitable only for communication via SIMATIC NET IE CPs.
