Part number:

Instructions:
In PCS 7 versions prior to V5.2, standard process control group messages were sent to PCS 7 OS during a failure. These were created because the diagnostic components of the PCS 7 library did not include all necessary process control messages. The messages were:
  • AS fault synchronous
  • AS fault asynchronous
  • Module fault
  • Stop/abort fault
  • H/F system event
  • Communications error
  • Fault not in the CPU / Fault in CP/FM module incoming

The diagnostics blocks of the PCS 7 libraries have been extended with PCS 7 V5.2 (STEP 7 V5.1 + SP2 + HF2). Thus the process control group messages of the S7-400 CPUs are no longer needed. The PCS 7 diagnostics blocks starting with V5.2 all have the necessary process control group messages and thus also cover the process control group messages of the S7-400 CPUs.

If a new project is built with a PCS 7 version >= V5.2, the process control group messages of the AS are suppressed by default. However, with software upgrades, this suppression is not active, and in case of an error, the user gets the process control group messages shown on the OS. For deactivation performthe following steps.

General procedure:

  • Select the CPU inside the Simatic Manager
  • Open the context menu with right mouse button.
  • Choose "Special Object Properties" - "Suppress Process Control Group Messages" and activate it.

Suppress/enable Process Control Group Messages ( 72 KB )

More information is available in the Online Help of the SIMATIC Manager.
