Configuration Notes:

1. WinCC/Dat@Monitor

( 66 KB )
Fig. 01

The WinCC/Dat@Monitor can display the current process statuses and archive data (Tag Logging and Alarm Logging) on an Office PC. The WinCC/Dat@Monitor consists of the following three applications: Dat@Symphony, Dat@View and Dat@Workbook

Dat@Synphony provides comparable display options to the WinCC/Web Navigator, with the exception that you cannot access the running process. You can only change the picture.

Dat@View gives you the option of interactively displaying historical process and alarm values in the Internet Explorer. This data is displayed as tables or as graphs in prepared ASP pages. Here you can select specific source data, time ranges and alarm blocks, for example. In the case of alarms it is also to filter and analyze interactively. The data displayed can then be printed out on the client or saved as a CSV file and transferred to Excel.

Dat@Workbook permits you to write archive data and WinCC process values to Microsoft Excel. In Excel you can process the data using the Excel tools.

2. WinCC/Connectivity Pack

( 32 KB )
Fig. 02

The WinCC/Connectivity Pack options package specially addresses the requirements of system integrators and end users with their own Engineering Departments. It includes standardized programming interfaces which accommodate third party applications. The necessary programming gives you the greatest possible flexibility for exchanging WinCC data with third party applications. The interfaces licensed in the Connectivity Pack are:

  • OPC Alarm & Event Server
  • OPC Historical Data Access Server
  • WinCC OLE DB
Via this interface you have access to the archive data stored by WinCC in the SQL database. This gives you the option of incorporating external applications.
