The CP 343-1 module (6GK7343-1EX11-0XE0) is now available with
the new firmware version V2.1.
The new firmware version V2.1 can be downloaded from the Internet
for existing modules. Firmware version V2.1 succeeds version V 2.0
and contains a number of error corrections.
With the update the CP remains
functionally compatible with the earlier version. It can therefore
be configured with the same STEP 7 / NCM version (select
6GK7343-1EX11-0XE0, V2.0, in HW-Config). Upgrading of
STEP7 or NCM is not necessary if the
compatible functions are used.
The following applies in the case of a spare part replacement:
An existing CP can be replaced without a PG, by
simply replacing the module (data are saved on the CPU)!
It is not necessary to use the latest version of STEP
Earlier CPs, e.g. 6GK7343-1EX00-0XE0 or predecessor, or IT CPs
(6GK7343-1GX00-0XE0) cannot be upgraded with this firmware.
- ARP to itself upon module startup. In the case of a replacement
of the module this will inform possible routers of the MAC
- Double IP addresses in the LAN (CP to other network nodes) are
identified and documented with a diagnostic buffer entry.
Important: Despite this new function, double
addressing is not permitted and can lead to communication problems!
The double address must definitely be eliminated.
- The configured default router address can be temporarily
switched by means of an ICMP Redirect Message. The new feature is
that the default router address is restored after 30 seconds. The
display in STEP7/NCM diagnostics has been suitably expanded. The
configured and the the currently used router address are now
- After a factory reset coming from the NCM diagnostics the
event is now documented in the diagnostic buffer.
1.) Dynamic switching of the router used after reception of an
ICMP Redirect Message.
2.) Parameterization of the LAN controller at 10 Mbit/s full duplex
is now processed correctly.
3.) Diagnostic buffer entry (low diagnostic level) and preventive
software workaround against
malfunction of the LAN controller (only 100 Mbit/s full
4.) Correction of the Keep Alive message frame. The connection to
various UNIX variants and
WINDOWS operating systems is now processed correctly in all
5.) Suppression of the ICMP Router Solicitation Message (from CP to
6.) Problems with the establishment of RFC 1006 connections after
7.) In the case of fetch jobs the correct contents and data lengths
are now returned in the target
area TIMER or COUNTER.
8.) The communication of UDP Multicast will no longer be disturbed
if an ICMP message
Destination Unreachable is received.
9.) The Lifelist on Ethernet will now be displayed correctly in all
10.) In the case of TCP connections the attempt at establishing a
connection will be
acknowledged negatively within the Frozen Time.
