Product designations
  • Product designation
  • order number (MLFB)
  • entry-ID
  • general terms
As a result you will get a list showing the links to entries available in our offer.

To achieve a quite good request result, we do not use a simple text search but a complex search technology. For a better identification, the product designations or order numbers will be dealt with separately, and the position of search terms in an entry is used for calculating the relevance.

2. Spellings & order numbers

Different spellings are often used for the same terms. Thus the search in Service & Support is able to recognize the different spellings and can always supply independently the same result. You can also enter your search in small letters, as the search does not distinguish between small initial or capital letters.

Product designations

Especially the product designations can be written in different ways. For a flexible respond, the search will correct the different spellings. It does not matter whether you write ""cp443-1"","" cp 443-1"" or "" CP-443-1"".

Order numbers (MLFB) and our proposal list

You can look for a complete order number or also for a part of an order number.
Examples for order numbers: ""6gk7443"" or ""6gk7443-1ex10"".

Use the input field above the search field to facilitate the entry of the order number (MLFB). This field reacts automatically to the values entered by you and supplies proposals from the order numbers and product designations known to us.

Entry-ID

By means of the entry-ID, entries can be clearly identified in the system. The ID will be displayed below the respective search hits.
If you search for an entry belonging to an entry-ID, only enter the number in the search field. The entry will be automatically displayed.

General terms

General terms are analyzed word by word. As a result, you will not get entries containing ""Internet"" when, e.g., requesting for ""...nt ...""(Windows NT).

All words are reduced to their basic forms making it unnecessary to search e.g. for ""variable"" and ""variables"". Compound words are hyphenated. Therefore you will also find the entry ""query the variable status"" when requesting for ""query the status of a variable"".

3. Linking of terms

Your terms of your query will be automatically linked. At first your search in Service & Support will produce the entries containing all terms. This corresponds to a UND-linking you already know from other search engines (e.g. Google).

When adding ""terms"" in your request, the search hits will be reduced helping you to restrict the search result further.

4. Displaying the results

As a result of your request, the search in Service & Support will supply a hit list showing the entries found. They will be sorted according to the calculated relevance. If there are several entries with the same relevance, they will be sorted according to date. Hence you will always find the latest information at the top.

Each hit has the headings of the entry. Click to the heading to display the entry. Below the heading, there will also be a short preview of the contents of the entry. For a quick jump to our product tree, use the ""folder link"" on the right side below the entry.

5. Search restrictions & settings

To filter your search result as fast as possible for, e.g., downloads, manuals or FAQs use our quick navigation on the left side of the screen.

When looking for manuals, all terms entered by you will be used for searching within a found manual.

6. Manual search

When looking for manuals, all terms entered by you will be used for searching within a found manual.

The ""plus"" at the beginning of a manual hit is used as a preview and identifies the chapters found for your terms.

To search within our manuals documents, select ""only manuals/operating instructions"" in the search restrictions, or combine your search term with the word ""manual"", e.g. ""wincc manual"".
For further restrictions, e.g., date restrictions, we recommend to use our search settings (see item 5).
