The redundancy module SITOP PSE202U 10 A (6EP1964-2BA00) for DIN rail mounting is an expansion module for the decoupled parallel connection of two power supplies and belongs to the SITOP DIN rail power supply product line. It is used for setting up a 24 V power supply with redundancy, in combination with two regulated 24 V load power supplies. In case of failure of one power supply the load is supplied by the remaining second power supply.
Via redundancy module SITOP PSE202U 10 A the outputs of two 24 V power supplies up to 5 A output current max. can be decoupled in such a way that in case of failure of one power supply it cannot become the load of the other one (variant 1).
A decoupled parallel connection up to 10 A is also possible. For decoupling several power supplies with 10 A rated output current each, one redundancy module per power supply is required (variant 2).
In this way, by decoupling the power supply outputs via the redundancy module, several SITOP 24 V power supplies can be connected in a redundant 24 V supply. The correct operation of the feeding power supplies is monitored and signalized via a green LED at the redundancy module. Additionally, this signal can be analysed via a potential-free relay contact. The redundant operation is normally used in applications in which reliable 24 V supply must be ensured, also if one device fails (for example process industry). The failure of a power supply can be recognized safely and repaired without affecting the 24 V power supply.
- Variant 1: decoupled parallel connection with redundancy up to 5 A
The SITOP power supplies are connected in parallel via the redundancy module. Inputs "IN 24V 1" and "IN 24V 2" of the redundancy module have to be connected with outputs "+" of the supplying power supplies and input "GND" of the redundancy module with outputs "-" of the supplying power supplies. Output "OUT 24V" has to be connected with the load (see picture 1).
SITOP power supplies up to 5 A rated output current can be used.
