Description PROFINET is based on the international Ethernet cabling standard (ISO11801). The cables are tested in compliance with this standard.
Set the parameters below in the cable analyzer to test the cables installed in a PROFINET network.
- Test profile: ISO/IEC 11801 Edition 2.0, connector min. Category 5
- Cable type, 4-wire (FTP or SSTP)
- NVP value for determining length
In this example the Fluke DTX-1800 cable analyzer firmware V2.24 is used to test the cables in the PROFINET network.
Make the following settings on the Fluke DTX-1800 cable analyzer before testing the cables:

- If the options above are not available on the measuring instrument, then you must set at least the limit value and outlet configuration.
- If the message "Defective patch cord on remote" is displayed, you should check the configuration of the connector.
