The PG/PC that is to control signal recording is to have a wireless connection to the IWLAN/PB PN IO Link or be connected to the relevant access point with an Industrial Ethernet cable. Use the DOS command "telnet <IP address of the IWLAN PB Link PN IO>" to set up a connection from the PG/PC to the IWLAN/PB Link PN/IO.
Enter "inform" and then"signal" and you get to the "Record Menu" (the menu from which you can start/stop recording). |

The following DOS commands are used to start/stop recording.
- "recstart <Int> [Num]" - Start recording
- "recstop" - Stop recording

When recording has finished, you have the option of downloading a text file via the DOS directory, which contains the most important measurements like signal % and signal to noise ratio RSSI. The FTP protocol is used for downloading. You use the following DOS commands for downloading:
- Set up connection to the FTP server: "ftp <IP address of the IWLAN/PB Link PN IO>"
- Enter "admin" for user and password
- Download text file: "get signal.txt"

This text file can be used in the "csv" format to display the recording graphically in Excel.

You import the text file "signal.txt" into Excel via the menu Data -> Import external data -> Import data.
