Description
Some drivers of software products, in particular mobile telephone software (to date Mobile Connect software products) are not compatible with the communication mechanism of the Automation License Manager (ALM) 4.0. The might affect operation of the ALM as follows:

  • The Automation License Manager hangs or cannot be started.
  • SIMATIC products hang or cannot find the installed license key.

Remedy
If the problem described above occurs, we recommend installing the ALM version V5.1 + SP1 + Upd 3. This version permits you to use the ALM despite the driver described above.

Note
ALM V5.1 + SP1 + Upd 3 changes the items in the Windows Start menu. This is now located under "Start > Programs > Siemens Automation > Automation License Manager".
