Why aren't new CPU modules shown in the hardware catalog?

Description:
Please check the version of the STEP 7 Lite you have installed. For the new CPU modules you need an update (Service Pack) and possibly an upgrade (new version of STEP 7 Lite) beforehand if you are still running an old version on your PC. You can find out which version of STEP 7 Lite you have installed by going to "Help > Info".

Fig. 01

For example, for CPU 6ES7314-6CF02-0AB0 you need at least STEP 7 Lite version V3.0 SP1. More information on this is available in our Entry ID 21952802.
The SP2 for STEP 7 Lite V3.0 is available for downloading in Entry ID 24372174.

Note:
In general you can configure and load a CPU in STEP 7 Lite that doesn't correspond to the CPU in the rack. If, for example, you have a CPU 6ES7314-6BF00-0AB0 in the rack, you can configure and load the two modules 6ES7314-6BF01-0AB0 and 6ES7314-6BF02-0AB0, but then you can't use the extended functions of the two modules. Please also refer to the information in the Online Help under "Tips on Editing Station Configurations" (replacing modules). If you use a module that is not in the rack for replacement, it must be compatible. For this you mark the CPU to be replaced in the hardware configuration and select the "Compatible" tab. You can then use the modules that are then shown in the catalog for replacement.
