Call the drive properties of the drive in the project path (right mouse button on motor icon ==> Object Properties, Drive tab). Select the new firmware version there. The help under "Changing device version" (Changing drive version) describes how to proceed. In particular, drives with non-empty parameter containers can only be changed to higher firmware version.
