As per the SIMATIC PCS 7 Catalog, MUI versions are supplied by default with Bundle PCs. Please also note the correlation between PCS 7 and the Windows operating system in Entry ID: 2334224.
Note:
With the Chinese language setting of the MUI version, please refer to the notes in "Readme.wri", section 1.4.

Which Microsoft Windows 2000 MUI updates are released for PCS 7 V6.x?

The Microsoft Windows 2000 MUI Update is released for SIMATIC PCS 7 V6.0 + SP1 and higher.

In Windows 2000 with Multilingual User Interface (MUI), menus, window bars and the Internet Explorer contain English texts although the setting has been changed in the Regional and Language Options to menus and dialogs in German. The localization coverage by Microsoft is only about 90% in Windows 2000, as described in English at http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/DrIntl/faqs/MUIFaq.mspx#MUIques4.

"..The percentage of localization coverage in Windows 2000 with MUI is about 90%. In Windows 2000 with MUI, there are many visible strings that appear in English. One of the most noticeable areas is the Start Menu. This is because the Start Menu is populated directly using the file names of folders and link files created at setup time. They appear in English even if you are running on a MUI system with Japanese User Interface, as English was the original installation language."

A solution for Internet Explorer 6 is also available. This is described in an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Important information on the Microsoft Patches KB829019 (Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0) and KB887616 (Office 2003 Service Pack 2)
We would like to point out that in our PCS 7 system test incompatibilities were discovered with the following Microsoft Patches in conjunction with CAS (Central Archive Server) and Storage Plus in the PCS 7 V6.1 + SP1 software environment.
Patch KB829019 contains a newer version (V2.0) of .NET Framework and Patch KB887616 contains the Service Pack 2 of Office 2003.
The incompatibility is caused by .NET Framework V2.0 and impairs the trend display in the StoragePlus WebViewer.
Therefore, do not install these Microsoft patches and generally prevent installation of .NET Framework V2.0 on PCS 7 V6.1 + SP1 systems.

Please note when implementing a Windows Software Update Server that under certain circumstances the patches are installed automatically in the PCS 7 system by the Microsoft Windows Software Update Service if you do not configure the Windows Software Update Service accordingly.
Therefore you should make the necessary technical arrangements so that Microsoft patches KB829019 and KB887616 cannot be installed automatically and also not manually in PCS 7 systems.

Note:
In the case of the IL 43 PC bundles released for PCS 7 V6.1 + SP1 in the ST PCS 7 catalog, the Automatic Update service is disabled by default for security reasons. Please note that this Automatic Update service is switched on in most other PCs!
